Shinde and Fadnavis won, senior Congress leaders Prithviraj Chavan, Balasaheb Thorat lost.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar (NCP) are among the prominent candidates to win the assembly elections. All the ministers of Mahayuti who contested the elections have won.

Mumbai BJP chief Ashish Shelar and state BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule also emerged victorious. Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders Aditya Thackeray and Varun Sardesai won from Mumbai. Sardesai defeated NCP candidate Zeeshan Siddiqui from Vandre East seat.

Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan, Congress Legislature Party leader Balasaheb Thorat, Congress’ Goa in-charge Manikrao Thackeray, Shiv Sena candidate Shaina NC and MNS candidate Amit Thackeray had to face defeat.

Former Union Minister Milind Deora was defeated by Aditya Thackeray from Worli seat. Sharad Pawar’s grandson and NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) candidate Yugendra Pawar was defeated by Ajit Pawar in Baramati constituency. In Nashik district, independent candidate Sameer Bhujbal lost to Shiv Sena candidate.

He left NCP and was contesting as an independent candidate from Nandgaon seat. Among the candidates contesting for the first time, former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan’s daughter Shrijaya Chavan won from Bhokar seat in Nanded district on a BJP ticket.
