In Gautam Buddha Nagar district, a young man allegedly attacked and killed his girlfriend with a knife after she refused to marry him. Police gave this information on Monday. The accused, identified as Virendra (27), a resident of Vijay Nagar, Ghaziabad, has been arrested and will be produced in the court today, police said.
He told that the incident took place on Saturday at Satyam Residency Colony near GT Road in Badalpur police station area, where Virendra entered the house of Rajesh Kumar and attacked his daughter Rakhi (23) with a knife.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone II) Shakti Mohan Awasthi said that Rakhi was admitted to Ghaziabad hospital in critical condition, where she died late in the night.
He said that on the basis of the complaint, the police arrested Virendra on Sunday and he is being produced in the court from today. Deputy Commissioner of Police said, “Investigation revealed that the families of Rakhi and Virendra are known to each other.” Both the families earlier lived together in Meerut. Virendra’s relationship with Rakhi was fixed but the condition of the girl’s side was that the marriage would take place only after the boy gets a government job.
He said, “But Virendra was not able to get a government job and he went to Rakhi’s house on Saturday to pressurize her for marriage.” Rakhi and her mother refuse to marry. Angered by this, Virendra attacked Rakhi with a knife. Awasthi said that investigation is going on in the matter.
