IIT Guwahati has launched the official GATE 2026 website and schedule. Online registration opens on 25 August 2025 and closes on 25 September 2025 (without late fee). The extended window with late fee is available up to 06 October 2025. GATE 2026 will be conducted on 07, 08, 14 & 15 February 2026 across India. 🎓 Eligibility
- Candidates currently in the 3rd year or higher of any UG degree OR who have already completed any government-approved degree in Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Science/Commerce/Arts/Humanities are eligible.
- Candidates with qualifying degrees from outside India: Bachelor’s degree (minimum 3 years) or currently in 3rd year or higher in the relevant disciplines.
- Professional Society Examinations recognized as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch. by MoE/AICTE/UGC/UPSC are acceptable (e.g., AMIE, AMICE), subject to conditions.

- Total Papers: 30 (includes full & sectional papers). New XE-I (Energy Science) added under XE.
- Attempts: Candidate may appear in one or up to two papers (only allowed combinations).
- Score Validity: 3 years from the date of result announcement.

- Complete registration with valid email ID & mobile number to get Enrollment ID.
